Visiting Duras

Five minutes from La Ganne, is the small bastide town of Duras.
Here you will find our nearest shopping and filling station at Carrefore, the post office and a range of small shops and restaurants .
Duras comes alive in summer months when the streets bustle with crowds on Monday market day and in July and August on Thursday evenings at the night markets.
There is a good selection restaurants and bars around the market square that include Don Camillo for a range of Italian meals, ‘La Terrace’ for good reasonably priced menu and ‘Café de la Paix’ for light meals and drinks through the day.
There is a full programme of events, details published by Duras Tourist Information Office, that runs throughout the year.
The chateau at Duras too, is open throughout the year and is well worth a visit especially on a sunny day to admire the views from its tower.
Local Markets with fresh fruit and vegetables available all summer.
Food and drink festivals are also hosted throughout the summer with regular weekend events such as night markets.
