Welcome to La Ganne!
In 2015 Ros and Tim found this former “Maison de Maitre”, which best translates as a Country House or Manor Farm House on the outskirts of the small hamlet of Baleyssagues approximately 5 minutes from the small bastide town of Duras.
La Ganne is set in private mature grounds of about 7500 square metres and parts of the house are believed to be more than 200 years old. Flowering shrubs and fruit trees entice a wide range of wildlife to the garden. Vibrant colours and sunshine with a far reaching view towards Duras chateau and beyond, make the garden a superb place to relax around the garden swimming pool.
Tim and Ros Argile have made La Ganne their permanent home and are currently renovating the property to offer two independent one-bedroomed self-contained gites, “L’ Hibou” and “L’Hérisson” within the main house.
Ideally suited for couples who may be house-hunting in the area; stopping off for a few days as part of a longer vacation in France, traveling to Spain, visiting friends in the region or just exploring this unspoilt area of France, we hope that you will choose to come and enjoy a comfortable stay in our home.
Both gîtes offer their own individual access and facilities; each has one bedroom accommodation with double bed, lounge/dining area, fully equipped kitchen with microwave and dishwasher, satellite TV and bathroom.
Alternatively, if required, an interlocking door between the gîtes enables them to operate as one unit, for friends or family accommodation. Le Hibou boasts a mezzanine bedroom with en suite shower /toilet whilst Le Hérisson is slightly larger in floor area with toilet/shower facilities on the ground floor and large bedroom with living room on its first floor.
The gîtes have a common car parking area and share a private area of garden with barbecue facility. Each gîte has patio furniture to enable guests to enjoy the evening ambience outdoors. Wi-Fi is available in gites and poolside. The swimming pool ( 4.5 x10m), was refurbished in 2022 and south facing terrace boasts stunning views of Baleyssagues and the countryside beyond.

La Ganne is strictly non-smoking and pets are not allowed in the gîtes.
